Kanakadasa - *Happy Kanakadas jayanti to all*. Kanakadas was a poet, philosopher, musician and composer from Karnataka. He was born as Timmappa Nayaka, joined Haridasa movement and became a follower of Vyasaraya who named him as Kanakadasa. He is known for his Keertanas and Ugabhoga. His compositions are in the Kannada language and sung in Karnatik (Carnatik) music. In addition to being a poet he worked as a social reformer made people to give up their age old obsolete social practices, superstitions, caste discrimination and adapt to the changing world.
