ವಚನ ದಾಸೋಹ

#ವಚನ:
#ಹದತಪ್ಪಿ ಕುಟ್ಟಲು ನುಚ್ಚಲ್ಲದೇ ಅಕ್ಕಿಯಲ್ಲ, ವ್ರತಹೀನರ ನೆರೆಯಲು ನರಕವಲ್ಲದೆ ಮುಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲ, ಅರಿಯದದು ಹೋಗಲಿ ಅರಿದು ಬೆರೆದೊಡೆ, ಕಾದ ಕತ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಿವಿ ಕೊಯ್ಯರಯ್ಯ, 
ಬಲ್ಲೆ ಬಲ್ಲೆನಾಗಿ ನಿಮ್ಮಾಣೆ ನಿರ್ಲಜ್ಜೇಶ್ವರ. 
 - ಶರಣೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಣದ ಸೊಮ್ಮವ್ವೆ
*Meaning:*
If I pound paddy  improperly using  too much force, I get 
only  broken rice not whole grains.
If I mix and socialise  with a vow-breakers i.e.people, who do not follow what they preach I get  only hell not liberation.
Ignore those times when I was ignorant, I did not know. But after learning, knowing and becoming wise ; and if I still mingle with such people, my ears shall be severed with a searing sword. Knowingly I won’t  mix with such people.
I swear on you Nirlajjeshwara,my beloved God.

 Sharane Kottanada Sommavve says  that one should keep the company of righteous people who keep their vows, follow righteous path and  lead a honest life. Ignore the past when I did not know this. If after knowing this, I still mingle with such dishonest people punish me O God! by cutting my ears with hot sword.This simple vachana of Sommavve, brims with profound advice and meaning. It tells the importance of Satsang. It tells that a life with no proper guidance and company of dishonest people leads to one’s ruination and spiritual bankruptcy. Always keep company of honest people.

Kāyaka (occupation): Pounding  and thrashing the rice-paddy into rice grains.
Kottanada Sommavve, worked in Basava’s Mahãmane. Her kayaka was to pound and thrash the rice-paddy into rice, remove the husk and clean the rice so that, cooked rice could be served as prasãda to the Sharanas visiting Basava’s abode Mahamane. She would serve Guru, Linga and Jangarna out of the money she earned from that occupation. This was called Dasoha by Sharanas. Only one vachana of Sommavve with the signature Nirlajjeshwara is found.  Her vachana emphasises the purity of disciplined living and satsanga. Shabda Brahma or  A-Ka-Ta triangle, : A-Ka-Ta triangle is also known as Shabda-Brahma (ಶಬ್ದಬ್ರಹ್ಮ). It is also called Kama-kala. A-Ka-Ta is the triangle in the Guru Chakra, in which the entire creation is enclosed. Guru chakra is part of Sahasrara chakra system and it is just below Sahasrara chakra proper.                   Bindu patterns   A-Ka-Ta is the triangle   symbolically it represents the Shabda-Brahma (ಶಬ್ದಬ್ರಹ್ಮ) with its energies.
