Guru chakra

Guru chakra:
Guru chakra (Jnana Chakra) Trikuti:
Guru chakra, the Chakra of higher knowledge is also known as Trikuti or Jnana Chakra. Trikuti means three lines meeting place—Here is an equilateral triangle with point directed downwards.
Guru means Knowledge. "Gu" means darkness, "Ru" means light. That light, which dispels the darkness of ignorance, is called Guru.

The guru chakra is located in the head, just below Sahasrara chakra. It has 12 white petals, upon which is written the guru syllable. It contains a circular moon region, within which is a downward pointing triangle. The twelve-petalled lotus is the "Fivefold Footstool" in the pericarp of Sahasrara Lotus.
Deity:
The triangle containing a jeweled altar with the crescent moon below and circular bindu above inside the bindu is the seat, upon which are the gurus footstools, upon which are the Gurus feet or Guru inside, bestowing blessings and knowledge on sadhaka.
Functions:
Chakra is used to purify the mind and to bring down spiritual truths.
Guru is not any person, although guru may operate through a person. Guru means the higher knowledge itself.
Guru Chakra is the doorway to that knowledge, to the wisdom and guidance of the teacher within yourself. Guru is not in human form. The Chakra through which Knowledge flows is Guru Chakra..The only purpose of living Guru outside is to make you aware of the Guru within you.
There is a cavity triangle here and there is a fire. It is evoked by your desire for spirituality. In this fire all thoughts, all the impressions, samskaras from the unconscious  mind  are given oblation. After giving that thought to fire oblation  if that thought comes again, say "Allready I have offered this thought to the fire of knowledge. Why are you coming to me again? It will not distract me now". Any thought that comes to your mind during meditation, you offer that thought to this fire of Guru Chakra.
The fire of knowledge purifyes the conscious and unconscious thoughts in mind during meditation. As fire purifies the gold, offer all that I have stored within the unconscious mind,  to the fire of knowledge by saying Om Guruve Namaha. Nothing belongs to me. When nothing belongs to me, what right do I have to keep  all these thoughts thinking that they were mine. I am free ; They are not mine.
Then you feel presence of the God all the time, God is with me, I am with the God.

Downwards pointing triangle at  muladhara chakra Prāṇa flows downwards , and upward facing triangle (between ajna chakra and sahasrara chakra) in  Guru Chakra Prāṇa flows upwards. It’s a flame of knowledge that flows upwards. Meditation on Ajñā Chakra, and attaining Sahasrara Chakra, accomplishs Turiya state.

This is called the highest of all fires—is called jnana fire— fire of knowledge.
Just put your thumb between brows. from there starts Trikuti. The fire of knowledge  Guru Chakra is there through which we think, through which we decide, through which we do things in our daily life. Little below is Ajñā Chakra, which is called gateway to the life.
Guru Chakra Balancing and purification:
While  sitting down, first  pay full  attention towards your body it's posture and nothing else.
When body becomes steady, then  don’t think of it; then  attend to breath and don't think of body. After you have attained a still posture, serene breath, and start dealing with your mind, manah prakshalanam, purify your mind. Ask your mind to recall all the thoughts both good and bad.
Many times you take somethings other's opinions of you very seriously which you should not. That  becomes your habit. But you are you. You are the most beautiful in the world. There is no one who can be compared. Learn to appreciate yourself.
Mind is not a store room holding things. They are not thoughts but memory from a past thought. All the thoughts coming to you, offer to the fire of knowledge.
There are three main layers of the thoughts in the mind.  Part of mind, which is called conscious mind is the one we  use, cultivate, culture, educate in our day to day life during waking state. Conscious mind  is the portion of mind that is used by us during waking state.
Deeply buried mind is which we are not aware of hence is not under our control. The thoughts in deely buried mind  are the impressions of our lifetimes stored in the unconscious mind and they are on various levels and known as Samskaras. You can easily purify your unconscious mind - by allowing them to come forward. Not using introspection but by allowing to relax your conscious mind.

Latent mind is where you can awaken according to the situation.
In this process of purification it becomes easy to get rid of all these thoughts and go beyond the mire of thoughts.
Guru Chakra in Sri Vidya tradition:
Ajna and Guru Chakras are also called Drikuti and Trikuti respectively.  Two light-filled Trikuti and Bhrikuti together connect us to intuitive wisdom and the inner divinity. These two centers, Trikuti and Bhrikuti, are a specialty of the Sri Vidya tradition and are located in the Brahma nadi, the energy channel inside the Sushumna nadi that runs between Ajna Chakra and Sahasrara Chakra ie between eyebrow and crown. Ajna chakra (Drikuti), the sixth chakra which includes "A" and "Jna", which means the "center without knowledge"  ("a"- without; "jna" - knowledge). Guru Chakra is experienced in the forehead, and is also called Jnana Chakra, or the "center with knowledge". The knowledge of Ajna is lower knowledge, while the knowledge of Jnana is higher knowledge.
A unique way of meditating at Ajna chakra lead the mind to pass through the concentrated light arising there. We are then able to pass through Brahma nadi and these two Guru Chakras and finally reach Sahasrara Chakra.

Guru or Jnana chakra is depicated as triangular shaped fire. Like ice melting back into water, the attraction, aversion and fear fall away in the inner fire of Guru chakra. It has also been likened to gold being purified in
a fire, whereby the dross burns away, allowing the gold to become purer. From that process the pathway is cleared, and higher wisdom and teachings come down to the Ajna. Eventually, awareness itself travels upward, receding through and beyond, to the final abode, the Absolute, the union of Shiva and Shakti.
