The Nirvana chakra is the center in which Moksha or Liberation or Nirvana is attained and experienced.
Nirvana chakra, located in the midst of the brain: in line with the upperpart of forehead at hair line, directly beneath the crown of the head. It is white in color and possesses 100 white petals. It marks the end of the Sushumna nadi, inside which are Vajra nadi, Chitrini nadi, Brahma nadi.
Nirvana refers to the profound peace of mind that is acquired with moksha or liberation from samsara, or release from a state of suffering, after the sādhanā( spiritual practice). Nirvana is synonymous with moksha and mukti. Nirvana represents the ultimate state of soteriological release, the liberation from saṃsāra.
It is a state of perfect quietude, freedom, highest happiness as well as the liberation from attachment and worldly suffering and the ending of samsara, the round of existence. It is the realisation of the union of the individual consciousness with universal consciousness.
In Hinduphilosophy Nirvana is the soteriological goal.
It represents the release of a soul from karmic bondage and samsara.
It is associated with secretion of DMT. It is responsible for different levels of concentration, dharana, dhyana and Savikalpa samadhi.
The Nirvana chakra is the center in which Moksha or Liberation or Nirvana is attained and experienced. Without knowledge and activation of this chakra it is not possible to liberate energies moving from the front of the head back and upward to the Sahasrara chakra (Brahmarandhra chakra) through Sahasrara chakra the yogi’s spirit rises to merge with the Absolute. Like the Talu chakra, the Nirvana chakra must be prepared and activated before the energies can so move. The Nirvana Chakra is also called the Jalandhara chakra. Jalandhara means “Holder of the water net”. Perfect mastery of both the subtle energy network of Nadis, Chakras and of Life itself is necessary to activate Nirvana Chakra and reach the Chakra to its full awareness. Jalandhara also means: “holder of the aggregation,” as it also controls all the seven Chakras beneath it.
