Spanda - part 2

🌷Spanda - part 2🌷
Spanda is the vibrating essence of the Universe. Spanda is derived from the root spadi meaning to move a little  (kimchit chalan). It is the  subtle creative pulse of the universe as it manifests into the dynamism of living form. Spanda is like a wave in the ocean. Spanda is the creative pulse of the all pervasive Consciousness called Shiva. Spanda is the central feature of Kashmir Shaivism.
🌷Spanda doctrine🌷
According to the Spanda doctrine, the Self is not simply witnessing consciousness as in Sankya and Vedanta darshanas but is an active force.
In Spanda doctrine the
Ultimate Reality is not simply a logical  abstract belief, but is the living, pulsating energy, the source of all manifestation. The pulsating energy could be a mental or physical pulsation.
It elaborates the dynamic aspect of Consciousness. Through yoga practice and deep meditation, it is possible to feel the energy behind spanda and utalise it for Kundalini chakra yoga, for accessing manifestation powers and realization of Self.

Abinahavagupta called spanda the “pulsation of the ecstasy of the Divine Consciousness." This word forms an important part of Kashmir Shaivism philosophy, which believes that the "Ultimate Reality throbs with spanda at all times".

Spanda doctrine has come to forefront after string theory was proposed by astrophyscists.
String theory proposes that every particle in the universe is made of tiny vibrating strings of energy.
The theory also allows the possibility of additional dimensions beyond space and time. There could be “projections of these higher dimensions into the  familiar three dimensions". Like guitar strings tuned to produce different frequencies, the vibrations of strings can be associated with the various particles.
If we look deep inside any particle and we see this tiny vibrating string. Vibrating string is a  fundamental entity that makes up everything. String theory could be the bridging link between Albert Einstein’s general theory of relativity and Quantum mechanics.
